Bodleian Library: Thomas Pembroke Statue

Funnily enough, the statue of the old guy in front of the Bodleian library is *not* of Thomas Bodley. (I think they do this to confuse tourists.) I think it’s of someone called Thomas Pembroke, but as the plaque is in Latin, I’m not entirely sure.

Don’t remember exactly why he’s got a statue in such a prominant place, but I expect money was probably involved (it usually is).
