Cliff Palace, Mesa Verde National Park
When I was a kid, visiting here, Cliff Palace was still completely open to the public, and I never saw it empty except in the photos the pros took. Now it’s only open via ranger-led tours, and if you time things right, the place will be deserted when you go. It looks so different without any people.
