My wife is also a huge Pratchett fan. She's read every Discworld novel (and some of the other books, including Nanny Ogg's cookbook) many many many times. She's gotten me into them as well. In fact, my plane reading to and from IL was Lords and Ladies, which was brilliant. The witch books tend to be my favorites, as are the Tiffany Aching books. (My wife also wanted to be an astronomer because of Carl Sagan. She was accepted to MIT, but didn't get a scholarship and couldn't afford to go. And like you, it was the math that did her in.)
